Poor Peri-Peri has broken some bones on Anzac day and needs an extended stay at the vets.
We will miss her at the Preschool. Here is a little collage of our patient puppy as she let us all play with her.
She has been dressed up, facepainted, had her toenails painted, put in baskets, hugged and kissed, chased and joined in a conga line and had bows and jewellery put on her feet, tails and ears. But still she loves to be with us.
Peri-Peri's sister Kello will miss her daily visits to the preschool as well.
6 weeks will feel like a lifetime to some of our pre-schoolers, but we will be glad to get her back safe and sound to resume her gentle hugging duties.

Farewells.
Today we say Goodbye to 3 of our friends who are leaving the island.
Big boy 'L' came to the Montessori Kinderhaus full time and completely benefitted from Rauni's guidance.
His younger brother 'B' started earlier this year when he turned 3 and we enjoyed being the start of his preschool journey.
WE will miss these boys and their kind & patient Mama, their sense of fun and cheekiness as well as their creative and healthy lunchboxes.
We wish you all the very best for your future.

A Dogs breakfast
I just had to share this.
While Mr Preschool was away working, my eldest 2 kids came to preschool before breakfast then was given a lift to big school each day.
They are always rushing and today left some breakfast behind in their bowls which the puppy sisters promptly lapped up.
I don't know where the term Dog's breakfast comes from originally, but I like this photos version the best.

BLUE but not sad.
On the first of April we celebrated Autism day here on Norfolk Island.
At preschool, we chose the autism awareness colour blue to highlight our own differences and uniqueness. a wall of our self portraits certainly proved that ☺
We are all different but we are all special!
This year we were lucky to be able to celebrate light up blue for Autism at Norfolk Island's government house.
We also loved the airport beacon light on top of Mt. Pitt lit up.
With 1 in 100 or less being diagnosed on the Autism spectrum, many of us are touched by someone who is affected.
Though with so much to celebrate about our individualities, we are happy to be blue but not sad.

Our Preschool Permaculture garden begins
These are the sad photos or the before photos.
These friends certainly have the Midas touch of the plant world, instead of turning everything to gold, they turned it into instant grow.
So here is our little preschool garden journey.
Watch its progress as we all grow and learn together.
To Graeme and Moira (and Dan, who is in his final year of school and was one of my original pre-schoolers long long ago) We cannot thank you enough for the life you magically breathed into our gardens.
xox Love from the pre-schoolers and me.
Here is the wonderful new garden taking shape.
We really are so very lucky. We will show you how our garden grows on our blog and on our facebook page.
For those who want to know more about soil therapy you can see Graeme's website here
His company Nutri-tech solutions are also a proud sponsor of edible school gardens

The cow who thought she was a dog.
This is the story of a cow
who followed us on a walk from preschool, just like a dog.
It stayed right next to us, just like Kello the puppy did. Even while we were reading a story at Prince Phillip lookout, the cow was still there.
Even while we played running races, the cow was still there watching the children with curious eyes.
It seemed as if she wanted to play too.
even photobombing a class photo!
Every time we turned around, there was the cow again.
Kello puppy wasn't sure what to make of it.
it pretended not to be near us....
and then followed close behind when we walked away.
There it is again
What a funny cow.
